Chapter 2: MAN-Berkhof Lowfloor Buses

 Originally Featured 04-October-2000

This chapter features pictures of Dutch bus body manufacturer Berkhof. Berkhof made its first attempt to construct low floor city buses in 1990. A total of 6 buses were built as prototypes on German MAN NL202 chassis. Four of them (body numbers 301-01 to 301-04) had a three-door layout, whereas two (body numbers 304-01 and 304-02) had only a front entrance and centre exit door. The body model was adapted from Berkhof's standard body and was called ST2000NLF.

While no more buses were built of this type, Berkhof used the experience to build a succesful range of low floor buses on Dennis and DAF chassis.
